Inna Kharchuk

Inna Kharchuk was born in 1995 in Rivne, Ukraine, in the Northwest of the country. Splitting time in studios in Rivne and Kyiv, Kharchuk’s practice focuses on the transformation of “authentic imagery” through shifts in color and composition. Kharchuk strives to investigate Ukrainian cultural code in her work - primarily somewhat abstract portraits of Ukrainian children - and determine the role and place of Ukrainian contemporary art in the global art landscape.

Her focus in portraiture is on the Ukrainian family, personal and collective memory of a culture at conflict. Since graduating from the Lviv National Academy of Arts in 2017, the young painter has taken part in solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe. In 2022, Kharchuk has shown in Paris, Naples, Cyprus, Austria, and Houston, Texas.
