Join us in building a new era of healthcare in Ukraine.

The ongoing war in Ukraine has exacerbated critical weaknesses in the country’s healthcare system, leaving millions of civilians without access to essential medical services. In response, Sunflower Network, in partnership with Ukraine's Ministry of Health and a global consortium of visionary healthcare leaders, is spearheading a transformative initiative: Project Horizon.

Leveraging local experience, global expertise, and an innovative use of modular construction, the project will establish a network of template-based hospitals, revolutionizing Ukraine’s healthcare infrastructure, supporting Ukraine’s recovery priorities, and providing high-quality care nationwide.

“We cannot wait for the war to be over. We need to make a positive impact now. Our deep local relationships will couple with our global coalition of experts to make positive headway immediately and create a model for revitalizing Ukraine’s healthcare system for generations to come.”

Phase 1: Pediatrics

The first phase of Project Horizon focuses on the urgent need for a children’s hospital in a secure region in Western Ukraine positioned along the vital Kyiv-to-Europe highway (E40) and equidistant from major population centers.

Quick Facts

  • The hospital is designed to elevate the nation’s healthcare to World Health Organization (WHO) and European Union (EU) benchmarks and lay the foundation for the reconstruction of Ukraine’s nationwide healthcare infrastructure.

  • Project Horizon’s template-based design consists of modular components that are easily replicable, enabling the construction of similar hospitals anywhere in the country without the need for custom design and construction at each site.

  • Using a modular and prefabricated approach, a substantial portion of the hospital will be constructed off-site, expediting the construction timeline and reducing the reliance on a highly specialized local workforce.

  • The design places profound emphasis on trauma-informed design, creating an environment that restores hope and empowers Ukrainians on their journey toward recovery while being mindful of the traumatic conflict and events of the last few years.

  • We have completed predevelopment and are ready to execute our pilot project in Brody, Ukraine.

“Project Horizon promises significant benefits for our people, city, region, and nation. It represents a beacon of innovation amidst wartime destruction.”
